What do Pink Floyd, a mountain ogre, and Friuli have in common?
A date: May 6, 1976. On that day Friuli was devastated by an earthquake nicknamed Orcolat and a boy recorded it all while recording Shine on You Crazy Diamond on a cassette.
Nothing was the same after that day. This is my take of the story.

Another day, another word from my own alpine syllabary. Stiç is the evocative word we use in Friuli-Venezia Giulia to describe the perfume of embers. It’s the scent that, near a fire, sticks on you in a minute and lingers in your memory forever.
